Financial crime prevention

How we verify customers, screen activity and help protect you from fraud.

How we check who we work with

  1. Step 1: Customer due diligence

    We identify and verify our customers before providing services, with enhanced due diligence where risk warrants it.

  2. Step 2: Screening

    Customers and payments are screened against sanctions lists and adverse-media sources.

  3. Step 3: Transaction monitoring

    Account activity is monitored for unusual or unexpected patterns. We do not publish our monitoring rules or thresholds.

  4. Step 4: Governance

    We have a nominated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and report suspicious activity to the authorities as required by law.

How we prevent financial crime

Our approach

As an FCA-authorised payment institution, we operate a risk-based financial-crime framework designed to meet the UK's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing requirements. At posture level:

  • Customer due diligence. We identify and verify our customers before providing services, with enhanced due diligence where risk warrants it.
  • Screening. Customers and payments are screened against sanctions lists and adverse-media sources.
  • Transaction monitoring. Account activity is monitored for unusual or unexpected patterns. We do not publish monitoring rules or thresholds.
  • Governance. We have a nominated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and report suspicious activity to the authorities as required by law.

Protecting you from fraud

We will never:

  • ask you for your password or a one-time security code;
  • pressure you to move money urgently to a "safe account";
  • change our bank details by email without verification steps you can independently confirm.

If you receive a request that claims to be from us and feels wrong, stop and contact your account manager using the details you already hold, not the details in the message.
